Just applied "Frontline" to the back of my cat's neck...

He saw the package in my hands and headed for the nearest couch, which he hid under until I moved the couch away from him. He's actually keeping his back to me now. He'll be pissed all day. Anybody else have that experience with these flea-killing products?

On the other hand, I don't like fleas in the house.

I had a White West Highland terrier for years...he was my baby. Westies are prone to skin problems, which he suffered with every summer. He'd itch and scratch until he had a big irriatated hot spot and we'd have to go the the vet. As soon as the frontline-like products came out no more skin irritations. Evidently, even one flea bite out in the yard would trigger a big-time skin reaction in him that would last for weeks and wouldn't be cleared up till he went on pregnisone.

One warning...I've read about cats having fatal reactions to some of the OTC flea drops. Specifically the ones from Hertz Mountain. I spend the extra bucks and get the products from the vet.

7. yes, the OTCs are dangerous

& mostly a waste of money. & advantix, a brand developed for dogs only, can be fatal to cats.

due to my enormous expenditures, i import many of my meds from aus, but get my vaccines from an american distributor, since they must be shipped on ice.

3. yes, my entire clouter

*flea* in panic when they hear me open the card. silly-assed cats. it isn't worth chasing down some of the ferals. i keep enough of the population protected that it overlaps & covers the wilder cats for me.

And I swear to God he can be two rooms away and know when I pick up that little tiny body of anti-fungal lotion.
