Advice about hostessing when all waiters all male

I think I'm going to be flamed and for good reason. My daughter and I were eating at our favorite Indian restaurant. Every waiter is male and Indian. Most do not speak English. My daughter decides to ask for a job. I'm thinking that she will never be hired and I say nothing. She went to meet the owner tonight and got hired. :crazy: So my concern is why would they hire a young woman. I did discuss it with my daughter and she said that it seemed appropriate.

that you can speak to the owner/manager frankly if you see the problem you are worried about happening? And do you think they would respond appropriately?

My question is about advising my daughter. I've told her my concerns. They may have hired her for reasons many of us hire folks. She asked, she's competent, and maybe they wanted to diversify. :shrug:

Do you think they have some motive to hire her other than wanting or needing an employee? What motives do you suspect and why?

I'm just worried that it's a very sexist environment. They are hiring a young woman for fluff.
