I DON'T WANT TO START COLLEGE!!!
College bloody starts on the 8th, and I have orientation next thursday and friday (i'll get to miss bush's divine jesus-sponsored acceptance speech, i'm crushed)...it just feels too soon, it's too much, IT'S TOO MUCH!

We (my friends and I) always talked about this day like it was so far away and now it's bearing down upon us, and we all agree it still feels like we're going to be going back to high school in a few days, not COLLEGE.

GAH! :scared:

8. It's so much fun!
I'm dead serious too. I'm moving back in two days and I can't wait! I've been packed and ready to go for about a month. :silly: As long as you feel you've made the right choice as far as the school goes, you have nothing to worry about.

PM me if you have any questions or specific worries. :-)

11. I loved my time in college
I drank about two pots of coffee per day, took tons of great classes, hung out with amazing people, got to be an editor of our daily paper, just generally loved it. It went by in a flash. In a way it seems like yesterday, but also like a million years ago (I graduated in 1990).

12. Get you ass to college NOW!!!!
Life doesn't give us many opportunities. This is one you have to take.
If you thumb your nose at college, you will regret it the rest of your life.
The old arguments about shoulda, coulda, woulda will dominate your thoughts. The careers that truly are worth time and effort require higher educations.
FIND A CAREER PATH THAT INVOLVES COLLEGE. MAKE YOUR CHOICE WISELY AND CAREFULLY AND THEN GO FOR IT. ITS A HELL OF A LOT BETTER THAN GOING FOR UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE.

14. Relax.
I'd give anything to go back in time and be headed for college. Especially if I'd known then what I know now. I didn't take advantage of all that was available, and I regret it. You are about to embark on the adventure of your life - and you're probably better prepared for it than I was. Know that you are envied by all of us that graduated ages ago - believe me, in a few weeks you'll wonder why you ever worried about it.

15. Relax
You'll love it. What school you going to? Hopefully its one where you'll be exposed to lots of ideas and ways of thinking. I went from a Repug dominated HS to a major state school with lots of different people. The whole world opened up for me. It was uplifting and a helluva lot of fun. Wish I could go back for another 6 years.

DePaul is a great school. You're going to have the time of your life, kiddo. Savor it. It will be over before you know it and then the real world will be there to crush you like a grape. LOL.

I live near DePaul actually, and it looks like the kids there have a lot of fun hanging out around the city. You'll like it, trust me.

16. Are you kidding? This is the best time you will ever have.
The most freedom for the least responsibility.

AND they finally admit that everything they told you for the last 18 years was a pack of lies. The proper expression for any freshman is mouth open, jaw on floor.

Oh, and they finally let you read the filthy stuff. (That's one of the big secrets: great literature is about filthy stuff. Shakespeare, especially. Wait. That may be for graduate school.)

20. Can I give you some unsolicited advice?
You will do just fine, if you 1) attend all your classes and 2) do the assigned homework daily. Don't get behind. Beyond that, I agree with JibJab: college will kick ass.

21. Enjoy it while it lasts
Once you settle in, you're going to wonder what you were worried about. You're gonna have lots of cool new experiences and be exposed to people from all over the country and world.

And if you get a 9 to 5 kind of job in the future, this will probably be one of the last times you can sleep in until noon on a weekday or stay up all night playing video games. Treasure it.

Oh, yeah. You'll also learn a lot of stuff. :P

23. College is absolutely wonderful... But, sadly, it is wasted on the young,
who haven't enough experience of life to understand just how great it can be... All that knowledge out there, yours for the learning. And the social life is a great bonus.

24. College is great...
Sadly I am already half way finished with my undergraduate work and it seems like it passed in a snap. I'm working my ass off in a major that I absolutely love and having a great time doing it. You'll meet a lot of like minded folks there and have a lot of fun too. BTW, whats going to be your major?

27. Time to grow the heck up, little one ... NOT!
If you think college is going to suck, wait until you actually have to face REAL responsibilities! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

College can be, should be, and probably WILL BE the most fun you will ever have in your life. And all you have to do is occasionally show up for class.

Deal with it, and kwitcherbitchin'.
