I don't think estrogen should be used for birth control...
...it's good for acne and maybe hormone replacement therapy, though.

5. Regular pills with too much estrogen make me gain weight.
Plus, I get a little concerned with the health effects over time. There are alternatives to BC control with estrogen though. There are two types of IUDs. One without any hormones (Copper T) and another that's newer that I believe just contains progesterone. There are also pills like Micronor which is progesterone only, but it is slightly less effective (like 95% as opposed 99%). I believe most of the patches contain a fair amount of estrogen, but there are lower dose pills that may be a good compromise (Ortho Tri-Cyclen low and Alesse for example).
