I just got even with a telemarketer.

I'm in my dorm room just now, and I got a call from a telemarketer.

Me: "Hello?"

Caller: "Hi, this is Kerri."

Me: "OK?..." (feeling confused)

Caller: "How are you today??"

(I'm thinking that I have just met my first stalker.)

Me: "Um... OK???..."

Caller: "GOOD! I'm here to tell you of an exciting new credit card offer for all NDSU students!! This exciting offer is available for blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah...."

And I just look at the receiver my cordless phone with a glassy look in my eye and simply push the off button on the phone and hang it up. No fuss, no muss.

I fucking HATE telemarketers.:grr::grr::grr:

I got a call a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday afternoon. Usually they call at dinnertime and I just hang up on them. It was unusual to get one on a Saturday afternoon, and I had nothing really going on.

She starts going into her shpiel about satellite TV. the installation is free and the first three months are free.

I tell her I don't even really watch broacast TV, and I certainly wasn't gonna pay for it. She tries to convince me that it's free, and we go around again.

After a few minutes, I say to her that I want to make it absolutely clear, there is no way I am gonna sign up for this service, but I don't mind wasting as much of her time as she wants to waste. I tell her that the more of her time I waste, the more I get to cut into the profits of her evil corporation. I ask her if she understands that I WANT to waste her time and why. She says yes. I ask her if, based on her lovely accent, she is based in India. She tells me that she is not allowed to say. I tell her AGAIN that it is my intention to waste her time because I'm bored and I want to cut into her company's profits. Yadda, yadda, yadda.

We go on like this for 15 minutes until I start to get bored by it all. Then I say that I would like to be taken off the list. She got real serious and assured me that my name would be removed. I've gotten at least a half dozen more calls since then.

Wanna get even with them? Waste their time!

3. I got even the other day...

this, I think, is a pretty good one. I was at home, on the phone. During off hours, my business phone rolls over to my house. So I was on the phone, and the call waiting buzzes. I click over, and the person on the other end says, "yes, I would like to speak to the person that handles the yellow pages advertising" I respond, "Sure, no problem, hang on one sec." I click back over to the other call, continue my conversation, and I 'accidently' forgot to check back in with the telemarketer, whoops, my bad :) ...Kevin.
