Let someone else tell you something about your city
Edited on Tue Aug-24-04 07:43 PM by HEyHEY
I'm from Vancouver B.C. - tell me something about my city. Then I'll tell you something about yours.

This is meant to gage what the impression of your city is to those not from there.

8. If I was right, just from Pictures I've seen and the movie
"I know what you did last summer." LOL. I know that was supposed to be carolina - but.

As for accents, I've been TOLD (May not be true) that most people have trouble understanding Vancouverites because they all speak very fast and kinda slurry.

Not quite like HST though

15. Vancouver is a gorgeous city on the ocean, with beautiful
Mountains. Wonderful restaurants, great shopping on a small island which you can take water taxis to. Balmy temperatures even in the winter, a huge park named Stanley where people bicycle and jog. And finally incredibly friendly helpful people, none of whom can give directions, including those in the Tourist information booths. (i admit I cheated, I've been there and I loved it, although not once did anyone give us correct directions. You're very lucky to live there)

Clean in Vancouver is a dead dream. The moutnains sock it in until it rains, which thankfully happens often...we actually don't get much snow though.

Every time I visit Vancouver I'm struck by how clean everything is -- the streets, the air, the people. That's also true of other Canadian cities, but Vancouver tops the list. Mind you, I do live in l.a., where it's pretty much the opposite. Whenever I think of a city that is the definition of "civilized," it would be Vancouver.

I have only heard good things about how beautiful and clean it is. I also hear that the people are really laid back and lots of fun. Never been there so I wouldn't know if it was true. But the impression seems to suit you.

What about Minneapolis? Any impressions? It's not my hometown (I am from a really, really small town in Northern Minnesota), but it is where I currently reside and I guess call home.
