Poll question: Sound we eliminate Judged Events from the Olympics?
Well, after the disaster that was tonight's men's high bar and many other instances just this go round, should we eliminate these "Judged events"?

1. No for gymnastics
Yes for rhythmic gymnastics, ice skating and ice dancing. At least gymnastics judges make an attempt to be fair, not so with ice skating. It borders on being fixed. Of course dancing of any type should not be an olympic sport, make it an exhibition for the people who like to watch it.

2. I don't know how fair it was tonight

THis time Alexei Nemov got royally screwed. On the high bar. the crowd booed for 10 minutes until they changed his score but it wasn't high enough to put him in the medals. Paul Hamm got a better score even though his routine was not as difficult (but it was well done). He wound up with the silver. It was outrageous; even the announcers said. Nemov was very gracious (this guy has like 12 medals). Something has to be done with the scoring system.

5. I hadn't seen that yet, it was on tape delay
Yep, that was certainly unfair. He obviously had the best routine.

3. i love both gymnastics and ice skating but i think both are getting too
inconsistent and political. sometimes it seems that the medalists have been preordained by the political swashbuckling behind the scenes.

6. Are you kidding?!
Talk about throwing the baby out with the bathwater! You want to eliminate entire events that have been in the olympics for so long just because you don't like some of the judging some time? If there's a problem with the system that selects judges, let's fix the system.
