1. Hell, I'm not a music junkie or a hipster or anything
and I hate Creed.

Even if I liked their music, I'd hate them because of Nickleback, Hoobastank and the rest of that lot that they may not have actually spawned, but they were there first, so I'm blaming Creed anyway.

In some way.

to make love to Good Charlotte does not mean I have to be involved in any way.

I mean, I'm sure Charlotte's good enough for both of us...but I think I'll let him slide on that one...

Is it gayer to have a 16"x12" version that stupid cross tattooed all over your back?

By corrollary...it would be gay to self-love, wouldn't it?

Not that I'm the best person to be asking this at the moment.

30. I like a few songs
Yes, I know there's better stuff out there, but the music isn't terrible and some of the songs speak to me. I'll have to be in the minority here. Don't hate me. It's just my preference.

31. I like Creed.
I'll admit that I haven't heard that much of their stuff, but I liked all that I heard. I like the music and I like his voice. (He's not bad looking either.) I have a friend who really loves Creed and bought all their albums.

But what I want to know is this: why are people (here) always making fun of Creed and putting them down? I just don't see anything about them to annoy folks so much--and I can find plenty of ubiquitous bands that totally suck and annoy me to no end.

but I suggest that you check one out... I'm sure there are dozens of fansites you can stream some from. If you don't mind, please let us know what you think after seeing the performance. I'm curious to know if it changes your perception any. I know of more than one person who liked their music until they saw their videos.

37. ok. so what did creed do?
i have recounted my 'ostrich posture' vis a vis 70's music on other threads...it was a self-defence mechanism...are they a 70's band? i didn't vote on the poll, because 'i don't know what creed did' was not there...i'm thinking i might be a 'no' though....

40. If not hating equates to liking, I suppose I do
I remember hearing "My Own Prison" (the single) when I was a freshman in high school and actually liking it quite a bit. I liked the sludgy/dreary/depressing sound of it; I wasn't liking much new rock at the time ('97) but liked it because it had a sort-of early nineties grunge sound. (Now the whole "neo-grunge" thing has been pretty much played out, but it seemed a bit novel at the time.)

I think I'd like Creed pretty well if they'd stopped there and just been one-hit wonders; since then I've liked a couple singles by them ("One" and, grudgingly "With Arms Wide Open") but the similarity in all their singles and the fact that they've been overplayed to death by so many radio stations has caused them to grate on me quite a bit.

Also, Scott Stapp's preachiness and Jesus Christ-posing is more than a little grating (although my opinion of him proved quite a bit when I read an interview with him and he came across as a liberal Christian); and Creed was like the favorite rock band (probably the only one they were allowed to listen to) of a lot of the preachy, hypocritical fundies I went to high school with- so the fans helped to lessen my opinion of the band, even though I try to not take them into consideration.

I think Alter Bridge (Creed minus Stapp) could be an improvement. I've just heard one single and it has an awesome guitar solo (at least to this non-musician's ears...)
