That I actually like some of Sammy Hagar's music. Especially his pre Van Halen stuff. It does get to me that he is a jingoistic freeptard. That really sucks.

2. To be fair about the music.

THe original Van Halen was the true Van Halen. They made solid albums. Likewise, Sammy Hagar was a better artist before he joined Van Halen. I prefer him as lead singer in Montrose and as a solo artist before joining VH. THough some of the songs he did in Van Halen were good and For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge was a good album. But, I was pissed when I found out how jingoistic he was.

Though for Van Halen that was true. That way was through Dave. Sammy did some decent tunes with VH, but was not as good as Dave was with the band.

I I like Mel Gibson. I know he's an extremist, fundamentalist Catholic who supports GWB and I don't give a damn. I like his movies. I like Mad Max, Bird on a Wire, Conspiracy Theory, The Patriot, Lethal Weapon, Braveheart and would probably like Passion of the Christ if I saw it. I like all of his movies and he's conservative!!!!!!!!! What do I do? Do I lie, and say I hate his work? Seems pretty stupid to me. Maybe I should just accept that the artist has the right to whatever political beliefs he has.

Do I ask my house-painter who he plans to vote vote? How about the plumber? Cashiers at the grocery store? If you like the guy's music, nothing else matters. Don't overthink-just enjoy...
