5. Yep. I'd say he was around 5'3'' to 5'5'', tops. I was sort of
surprised. I later saw him conduct the Mahler 2 at Avery Fisher Hall and noticed that the podium he stood on was rather high.

I'm sure his height info is available somewhere on the net. I'll search.

9. Speaking of Short Superstars, Heard of Vicente FERNANDEZ?
Mexican, HUGE voice, getting very old now.

At a personal appearance, people (mostly wimmen) lined up. One woman in line saw he was 5'5" or less --------and TOOK HER HEELS OFF.

What beautiful courtesy. Like what we dudes do when we take our ties off if a guest ain't wearing one.
