Why is my home page being reset to MAKEMESEARCH? Is this spyware?
My home page default for Windows 98 is msn.com - when I open a folder in My Documents it changes to makemesearch.com! Does anyone know of a way to fix this? Sent an email to MSN, but have no reply as of yet...

Try a free spyware blocker.

Spybot Search & Destroy will allow you to scan and kill spyware already on your machine.

Spyware Blaster will help defend against new stuff.

Both are free. Try a Google search to find them.

5. dude, you've been hijacked!
It's awful, but you can work around it with the tools others suggested.

Also, try your HISTORY button to go to back to your REAL homepage, and reset it as your homepage.'

Then go to www.mozilla.org and download firefox and use it as your new browser.

7. Also get...
SafeXP. It is a program that will shut down all the security holes that allow spyware to get in, like MSMSGR.EXE.

Quickly and easily.
