Bush* loses. What does he do for two months?
OK, Kerry wipes up the floor with him on Nov. 2.

Everything he has done, every action taken by his administration for almost four years, has been aimed at getting him re-elected. Not to mention the non-stop campaign appearances that have been the hallmark of his one term.

He still has roughly two months to serve. He knows that the Kerry admin will do everything possible to dismantle and revoke all of his failed policies.

What will he do? Just say the hell with it and go to Crawford, leaving a caretaker staff in Washington? Clear brush and try to once and for all get the hang of riding a bike?
Spend it at Camp David having his memoirs ghostwritten?
Just curl up in a ball in the White House private quarters?
"Y'all wake me up when it's time to go."
Go to Kenneybunkport?
What?

Post your real guesses or your flights of fancy here.

4. Pardon's O'Plenty
There have been SO many crimes that will see the light of day he has to protect as many of his co-conspirators as possible.

5. I am afraid he will appoint through executive order
more rightwing judges, cut more taxes for his buddies, borrow more money from the Saudis and China to pay for the tax cuts and God only knows what else he would do. Can a lame duck President do that?

6. In 1916, president Wilson considered the situation so dangerous that, if
he lost, he planned on having his VP resign, appointing his opponent (C E Hughes?) VP, and then resigning himself in order to avoid subjecting the country to a prolonged lame duck period. If shrub had any sense of responsibility, he would do the same. Never mind.

11. Get out the Executive Order pad, and a new cartridge for his pen!
I'm not a political scholar, but I understand there are all kind of things he can do via Executive Order. The up side is that the new President can reverse all of them.

The pardon for Kenny Boy is likely, but good ol' Kenny better get himself convicted pretty soon to have that happen.

12. If I had to make a serious guess:
Hmmm...

It's really hard to say.
Yep, probably a slew of pardons for crimes not yet prosecuted, or even discovered.
Ford established that precedent with Nixon.

I don't think there's a lot he could do as far as government and legislation. The dems in the senate could block most anything that had to pass congress. Executive orders could soon be rescinded by the incoming admin.

I'd say his box office draw would suffer, but maybe not among the true believers. Maybe he could raise some more campaign ca$h for the next contest.

I think he'd just kinda lame-duck his ass along until the inauguration.
I can't wait to hear his concession speech.

He'll probably even pardon himself.

17. He can't do that, thank God!
A President cannot pardon himself, and that's the only restriction as far as I know. He would have to pardon Cheney, then resign so Cheney could take over and become President and Cheney could then pardon shrub.

These guys are crafty, devious, sneaky, and everything else, but I doubt even thry could pull that one off!
