I notice the right never talks much about these hooligans.

These types rip up cars, stores, anything they can get their hands on, they tip over vehicles, they set fire to whatever they can, they douse everything in sight with alchohol.

Who are these animals I'm talking about? drunken college sports fans.

Those of you who live in cities where the college team is popular you know what I'm talking about.

I remember a few years back when the UofA lost their spot in the Final Four I think it was, how those animals tore the entire downtown area. These people had no agenda but to cause chaos.

These people weren't hippies or anything like that you know what they were? college drunks and local idiots. Alot of them would probably identify themselves as conservatives too in that they support God and Country dammit! whoo-hoo!! pour me another shot! whoa look at those titties they make me wanna tip over a car! yee-haw!!!!!

I don't get it. Whether the team wins or loses they burn and rip shit up and attack the cops.

2. makes sense, conservatives treat politics just like they treat sports
meaning if your team gets a shitty coach, you still support them, you still call the other teams losers no matter how good they are (indeed, even more if they are really good!) and never, ever, EVER change your loyalty, no matter how much your team sucks mortal ass..

and, of course, the only natural expression of said loyalty is chaos and destruction

sigh...

5. I think team loyalty is a good thing
Fairweather fans piss me off. However, as a long-suffering Knicks fan, I am more than willing to admit my team sucks fair quantities of ass.

Loyalty is one thing, denial is totally different.

I remember when UCLA won the NCAA championship in 1995, a conservative friend of mine from high school, then a freshman, complained to me on the phone about how "brutal" the police were on the streets of Westwood during the fan celebrations. Problem is, this guy applauded the Rodney King beating in 1992. Still, it was good to see him come around to my side on the issue of polica brutality.

4. what REALLY pisses me off
here at Ohio State, we had some really bad riots a few years ago, after the M*CH*G*N game. and the pisser was... it was NOT OSU students. it was fuckwad guys from cincinatti, and a bunch of college kids from other Columbus colleges. and now, the cops watch us like we're in west L.A., and from the way they look at us, they're thinking "we could beat some black guys, and some liberal commies to, and claim they were rioting..." the climate is almost that of a prison, at times, and its just plain depressing that this happened because some assholes decided that setting dumpsters on fire was the most mature way to voice their devotion to football
