Why is Bill Clement doing badminton and ping-pong?

For those are aren't unemployed and flip around the Olympic coverage during the day, Bill Clement, who does hockey on ESPN, is doing the color commentary for badminton and ping-pong...er, table tennis. Does anyone have any clue as to why? This guy was a Broad Street Bully, for Christ's sake.

2. Just seems a strange transition

Badminton to hockey. Doesn't seem quite similar. Plus, he works for ESPN, not connected at all to NBC. Who knows.

3. he was a high school badminton champion

if you listen to his announcing, you can tell he's familiar with the sport. as for table tennis, i have a feeling he does that because it's in the same building as badminton, hah!
