I mean fuck people! Will they ever even pretend to be inteligent.

All I here is Shrine this, and Shrine that. They are trying so hard to make Islam out to be some sort of cult or crazy chanting religion it's sickening. You would thinkt hat after all these years of the mdiea calling it an evil religion they would at least now to call it a Mosque!

1. in defence of those religions that actually have shrines...
they aren't "crazy chanting religion"s. Perhaps the people on the news just can't pronounce it?

4. I mean no offence to religions with shrines
But to an every day american idiot it makes islam look like some obscure religion that is to be ignored.

I can't really say what I mean very well right now cuz I'm stoned but I'll try and clarify later.

6. no prob....i agree with your general point
but not with this particular instance.

The Muslims who really have problems with shrines are the Wahabbis (centered in Saudi). They have even gone so far as to oppose the pilgrimage to the Kabaa in Mecca. They totally oppose anything that looks (the Christian practice of) worshipping saints.

3. but there are shrines in Islam....
This mosque is Ali's shrine....

You can go to Damascus and visit the Shrine of Ibn Arabi, the great Sufi mystic (who taught, in a nutshell, that all religious beliefs are divine manifestations).

Many other shrines as well.....

7. Imagine if they called it a church...
which is closer in meaning to a mosque than is a shrine. Christian wackos would call in death threats. Why don't they just call them heathen Satan idol shrines? Isn't that what they mean anyway?

EVERY TIME I turn on the goddamn TV I am force-fed Chriatianity!
