70 hours a week is just killing me (whiney rant)
I got this full-time gig for the newspaper that's running around and thinking and writing all day, then I have a few shifts at the restaurant at night to make ends meet. :eyes:

It's frustrating, because I make as much waiting tables three nights a week as I do all freakin' week at the paper. Unfortunately there aren't any more shifts to be had at the restaurant, and I need the dough.

This kinda stinks. I should be thrilled to have a job "in my field" (writing), but between the two jobs I'm just beat up all the time. My only full day off is Sunday, and it's all I can do to get out and get groceries for food I don't seem to have time to cook anymore.

Man, whatta whiner I am. Sorry. :)

1. Paying the dues sucks.
I did it when I started my own business. The payoff has been nice. I don't regret the hard work at all, but I sure wouldn't want to do it again.

2. Feel your pain
When I was in college I was a full time student and a full time employee. Burn-out sucks

3. Try 90 hours a week * 7 days a week * 6 years
I have my own business - protecting my investment - such has been the story of my life for 6 years

4. I hear ya. I'm not going to make millions at the paper I'm at
But I love what I do (writing sports) and for now it's been a good start for me. I've been here 2 years and I'm just starting to make my mark.

Don't worry about ranting, I might due the same after next week. We have this big tennis tournament coming up and I'm working seven straight days.

Try to sneak in a few minutes for yourself.
