WOO HOO! ABOUT FREEPING TIME!

I was even out on my own today with enough money to buy some more smokes. The thought of buying ciggies didn't even come up in my mind for a second!

Once again...

WOO HOO!

2. Keep your courage and don't let stress break you down. My wife
has quit 5 times 2 times for over a year and is back sucking on the damn things. It's a tough beast and it never stops looking for a way back in.

3. Be careful...I always relapsed when I thought I could smoke just one...
It was only when I knew I could never touch tobacco of any sort again that I really quit.

5. I've quit before
and usually it's not the "Just one smoke" thing that hits me--it's usually, ironically enough, a medical crisis in the family. Sitting in a waiting room with my other smoking family members usually gets to me.

That and English/Lit courses at college. That's where most of the real conversations happen. The Prof usually lets down their hair then. ;-)

Doctors told her they probably couldn't save her, however they are a little more hopefull now, she finishes her last radiation treatment today, but has to face 6 months of chemo. gets her fourth treatment this week...Don't smoke another cig.

8. GOOD FOR YOU!
Keep it up, and the next thing you know, you won't be getting the cravings!
BTW for a warning, there were always 2 things that would set off my cravings when I was quitting: seeing people smoke in real life, and on TV/movies. If I avoided that, I was OK.

9. I still think about it quite frequently.
But it gets easier not to do it. Good for you. Doesn't your mouth just TASTE better? That's the part I always hated.

12. they say the sixes are the real hurdles . . .
six days, six weeks, six months . . . those are the times when the urge is supposedly the strongest, so if you get through them, you're well on your way to kicking it . . . congrats on making the first hurdle! . . .

As Mitch Hedberg says, I can only assume it's as difficult to quit smoking as it is to start flossing. :D I've never had to quit.
