Would you take a gig like this?

I've been asked to play in the orchestra for a concert setting of "Pirates of Penzance". Sounds like fun, no?

Only the performance is on 9/11. I've no idea what buffoon planned this one, but DOH!

I haven't been offered anything else yet; and I could use the money (though it's not a particularly well-paying gig). But I feel funny about performing something so lighthearted so soon after those tragic events.

Would you take it, or leave it?

Pirates is a great piece to play. Besides, I have a relative getting *married* on 9/11!

2. It's a job. The economy is bad. Beggers can't be choosers. Take the job.

3. I would take it in a heartbeat.

Fun show and pay is pay and work is work. You never know, some people might just want a light hearted evening on the 11th and you can provide it. Unless it is bothering you I would say this. Orchestra gigs don't come along that often, go for it.
