Who do you think is the best pro-football quarterback?
Being a Coloradoan for 22 years and having grown up with the Broncos, I will have to say John Elway. 5 superbowl appearences. He could throw the ball long distances. He could run. His passing record is impressive (though Dan Marino had a few more than Elway) but still. He finished his career with two Super Bowl victories. That was a great time to be a Broncos fan.

1. Elway is the one.
I got to watch him twice a year when he played the Chargers and beat them 90% of the time.
If I ever had to pick a QB to guide my team in a close contest with 2 minutes or less on the clock, Elway would be my choice.

4. He's the comeback kid.
Whenever the Broncos have late game troubles now, I feel nostalgic for him because he could get them out.

2. brett favre
that guy is indestructible. injury after injury after injury and he just plays right through them all. i've seen that man scramble and break tackles that linebackers couldn't handle.

however, being a lifelong wisconsin resident, i'm probably a little biased.

7. Favre is going to the Hall Of Fame soon.
Gee, I'm not showing any bias here, am I? :-)

3. Y.A. Tittle . . . NY Giants . . . sometime in the early 60s, I think . ..
used to throw to Del Shofner for amazing touchdowns . . . often winning games in the closing seconds . . . yeah, I know he's not Elway or Marino or whomever, but he played when football was really kickass . . . always been my personal favorite . . .

9. The other thing about Unitas, Tittle, and the old guys...
They played when pass defense was allowed. DB's could bump a receiver all the way down the field back in those days. The offensive lines were more limited in how they could block. It was much more difficult for a receiver to get open and much more difficult for a QB to get the time to throw.

6. I gotta go with Joe

Montana may not have been the most gifted, but if there was
ever a QB that could make a team believe they could win, and
strike fear in the opposing defense, it was Joe. He was a
"winner".

Elway, Marino, Bradshaw, Unitas, and Fouts are all up there as
well.

10. I'd have to say Joe Montana also.
Incredible leader, especially when the team was behind. Many playoff and Super Bowl appearances, was a great quarterback consistently year after year.
