Any fans of S. African writer Nadine Gordimer in the Lounge?

I found a free copy of The Late Bourgeois World in a giveaway bin at an Asheville used bookstore.

It's GREAT!

Seriously, I'm ashamed that I was unaware of this Nobel Prize winning author. This interview is pretty damned cool too. Turns out she's quite the activist too. Not only during Apartied but she's also protested recent US intimidation of Cuba (Look it up...).

She also has something of an open contempt for those who see a wrong and do nothing to correct it, regardless of the risk.

Definately a new favorite of mine!

So have any DU'ers read any of her novels or short stories?
