Ouch! the gears were right, the engine wasn't...

So I took the Fuji with its "stump-pulling" low gear out to go play in the hills today.
First one was no problem, I usually climb it in 42-34 on a different bike anyway.
Next one I took in 36-28 and sort of "danced on the pedals" a little on the crest.

Next valley, I hit the top at 17 and tuck in and COAST. I hit the bottom at 37 MPH, the other side is just as steep. All the way into the 26-34 and I'm spinning 100 RPM at 4 mph. And I can feel my heart going like a triphammer (stupid biker, no heart monitor.You call this "research"?) But I make it to the top of the hill anyweay. Never did that before.

But that pretty much "cooked" me for the rest of the ride...The next hill, I made it 100 yards further up the road than usual before getting off and walking, and I started seeing all these pretty sparkly lights....

Yeah, the gears are fine, The old fat man needs some Interval Work....

That's gonna hurt....
