Does your political meetup attract people who act kind of annoying?
I go to Kerry meetup pretty regularly (we have a weekly one in Chicago in addition to the monthly one), and the DUers I've met there are cool, and the people from the actual Kerry campaign are cool, and a lot of other people there are cool, but then there's like a few people who like talk way too loudly, jump into the middle of conversations without knowing what you're talking about, bring up weird angles on things, get too close to you, stuff like that. Someone here was talking about how at a very small meetup at a coffee shop there was like four people, and three of them decided to come early next time so they could get things done before this other guy came who likes to go on about stuff.

1. The first Dean meetup I went to
There was this woman who incessantly repeated the phrase "social liberal, economic conservative" as though she was saying something witty or original.

And there are always a number of people who feel the need to dominate the conversation.
