Why don't they make a toilet without a seat?
or if not that then a seat that is durable enough to be operated by foot so I don't touch it. Or maybe a pedal like some trash cans have.

1. Why don't contractors put a urinal next to the stool?
You can even hold hands whilst going Number One.

3. Screw that, I want my urinal next to the TV or the Kegerator
Then I could have one stop refreshments while away from the TV

2. They have them in Europe ...
they have public toilets with just a hole and the outlines of shoes of both sides of it. You either stand or squat - and they are unisex.

4. What part of Europe
I lived 2 years in Germany and saw no such thing. The toilets did have an observation deck where you could examine your stools though

5. An observation deck?!?!
Did they provide sticks for you to use to poke around at it?

6. Isn't that what the host's toothbrush is for?
:-)
Here is a picture.

Notice how far forward the hole is. The ledge usually has no or little water. When you flush, waste is swept off the ledge by water and goes down the hole. I was fortunate to never have a clog, I can't begin to imagin how one plunges these things.

14. "When you flush, waste is swept off the ledge by water ..."
...if you're lucky! You might have to move it along yourself!
Some folks suggest lining the "shelf" with toilet paper first.

15. I've had some massive craps and never had a problem
sure smears could happen, but that's why you clean your toilet frequently. I've never had a pile of shit that tjust stood there impervious to the water.

13. basically two different systems:
Nether is exactly like the US whirl (both require far less water, but manual "help" with a brush).

Flachspüler (Shallow Scourer; no longer used):

And the Tiefspüler(Deep Scourer; the predominant design):

The Tiefspüler looks like the American design and shares some advantages, but is not identical.

At least that's where I had to use them. Probably in the whole Mediterranean area.
