Thanks DU
Edited on Mon Aug-02-04 09:00 PM by SarahBelle
I'm naturally a pretty reserved person who doesn't get close to people. Hell, I don't even like most people, but some I do. Sometimes I find myself here saying things that a year ago was deeply buried in my brain. I let out a lot of stuff and I had to face a lot of truths over the last year in my life and sometimes, just sometimes, the transition that my life now freaks me out a bit.

Not even sure what this means other then if I say something weird or look like an idiot at times, please forgive me. When I began reading DU almost 2 years ago, it was because I saw what was going on in our country and it scared me and I feel like I had to know more. I had to do more somehow in the only way I could. Much of it is just feeding my brain. I had no idea that I would meet people that would allow me to feel safe in being so open in ways both publicly and privately. Anyway, for that I'm grateful. I just had to say that.

I'm a person who expects a lot out of myself and all the twists, turns, and whatnot I've felt in the last year of my life isn't what I'm used to because it's like I need to feel some sort of stability to feel okay much of the time. I don't have that anymore. Knowing there's different roads (even if they're better ones) sometimes scares the crap out of me and I'm just trying to get used to it all. You all just happen to get a smidgen of it and for the most part have not only been great people, but discrete when necessary as well. I do appreciate that. A lot.

Edit: grammar error

2. Sarah...
If you "say something weird or look like an idiot at times" -- we won't care. Hell, most of us probably won't even notice. ;)

You're amongst friends.

4. Feel free to vent
I empathasize with you.

I try not to offer too much advice because everybody has to find their own comfort level but if I can ever help, aside from a little ego booster here and there, let me know.

5. I'm only an old newbie, but I understand...
"...if I say something weird or look like an idiot at times, please forgive me."

How would anyone around here differentiate your weirdness from the rest of us? We all pretty much came here for the same reason. Just be yourself and have fun doing it. :toast:

10. The only difference is...
I get too self-conscious about it all. More than necessay probably, but sometimes I just need to say things that need to be said. :D

I still say the two not mutually exclusive either. In fact, sweetest is a requirement. :pals:
