4. Seriously?
I never would thought of the guy who did "I love the dead" and "Cold Ethel" as a republican christian-rightwing zealout idiot.

Very sad. Alice has long been one of my musical/performing heroes.

3. I love "School's Out"
I started a tradition in the house of singing that song to the kids on the last day of school.

It got so that a group of kids would beller it at the top of their lungs while beating backpacks (dadada dum, dadada dum) all the way down the street to the house.

Needless to say, we laughed our arses off at that ad. :-)

When the original Alice Cooper group was shoved aside so Alice could be the star. Those guys - Glen Buxton, Neal Smith, Dennis Dunaway and Michael Bruce - were a great band, and I think Glen Buxton was a totally underrated guitarist. Of course, he had a pretty major drug and alcohol problem, and during the recording of Billion Dollar Babies (their last decent record) they brought in a couple of other guitarists to back him up.

My first musical memory is of seeing Alice Cooper do "I'm Eighteen" on the Dick Cavett show. I was about three and scared yet fascinated at the same time.

As for Alice today, meh, he's been such a joke for so long, he doesn't even show on my radar screen. Anyone remember "Clones," his stab at new wave? LOL
