I just saw Soylent Green for the first time...
It was on the other night (the ultra-super-duper late movie). Its only like 30 years old or so and I finally saw it. I remember hearing the title off and on over the years but I had no clue what it was about. And now I know. Soylent Green is people!;( Pretty freaky....

1. The point of the film, I think
is that the government lied to the people, telling them that the soylent factories and the environment around them was really fine and ok.....

3. Solyent Green was originally a book called "Make Room, Make Room"
Written by Harry Harrison. Harry Harrison also wrote the Science Fiction series "The Stainless Steel Rat." Which was a very entertaining SF novel, with many sequels. Some of Harry Harrison's books portray the future quite accurately.

4. I saw that as a kid, and what I remember vividly was his dad
savoring that little piece of steak, and some kind of jam or jelly or marmelade or something.

7. Heard Harrison once...
The Orlando Science center had a series featuring science fiction writers and Harrison was a guest. He was great!

8. I was taken with the scene when Edward G. Robinson's character..
voluntarily commits suicide. Before he dies, he sees images of how the world used to look like. It's a pretty good scene, actually.
