6. In Portland...

In Portland KPOJ has shifted its weekday schedule. They have moved The Majority Report to the 10 PM to 1 AM slot, allowing Mike Malloy's new show to be aired live 7 PM to 10PM. The Majority Report was already tape delayed, so I suppose it's a good idea to have live radio show.

BTW I wanted to post some information about Air America's ratings here in Portland, but was not allowed to because I've rarely posted here. So FYI the following paragraphs are cut and pasted from a local radio message board website.

"All I know is what I know...sorry I don't have all the numbers, but KPOJ has blown everyone away. Franken #1 25-54 Ed Schultz #1 25-54 (M-F 10-3) Randi Rhodes #1 25-54 (M-F 3-7) Marty Kaplan (7-8p) and Janene Garofolo & Sam Seder #2 25-54 (M-F 8-11). KEX derailed KPOJ from running the table by going #1 25-54 7-12 mid. Overall KPOJ #3 25-54 M-Sun 6a-12mid."
KPOJ's numbers basically bounced from a .2 to a 6.4, blowing away the big FM music stations.

7. I am so jealous of all of you who can listen to Mike

I can't get satellite radio in my house and I don't have a computer with an Internet connection anywhere near my bed. I can't imagine how great it would be to have the last voice you hear during the day be Mike Malloy's. He really is terrific. He has the wonderful quality of sounding like the nicest guy in the world--someone you would LOVE to sit down and have a beer with--when suddenly he goes off on one of his rants regarding the Bush administration and/or neocons in general. Then he is like the freakin' Incredible Hulk on steroids. There are few true things of beauty that remain in our godforsaken world; a pissed-off Malloy is one of them. Enjoy.
