Sure, they don't play friggin music anymore - but I don't have an axe to grind or anything.

Just that they're being pretty irresponsible in the post-Janet-boob environment, which might leave them open to criticism -- and create less enthusiasm for things like Rock The Vote and Choose Or Lose.

That's why I posted this here first -- to try to get the pulse of right-to-know vs. responsibility. Hopefully, I can just set MTV straight and not cause controversy.

They're opening themselves up to criticism, and you want them to stop doing so.

Your strategy for doing this is to cause them embarassment and get criticized.

I see where this could work, if it was enough of a thing that it would cause them to pay attention, but the scandal was short enough for them to tumble out of it easily.

But people will always watch MTV - I doubt any amount of scandal they could heap on themselves would do damage to the viewership of a network which still seems like the only one dedicated to high-school and college-age kids, and, in turn, the only political outlet on cable that speaks to this segment. If they shot themselves in the foot they would make changes and end up just like you want anyways; they don't need the help of this scandal you want to uncover.
