I'm listening to "No New York".--ask me anything.
Recorded 25 years ago this month.

CHeck out the line up:

Contortions, featuring James Chance

also featuring Lydia Lunch's first band, "Teenage Jesus & the Jerks"

and Arto Lindsay's "DNA", and pre-punk noisemasters, "Mars".

F***ing No Wave movement--it's amazing!!

Nobody worships the old gods anymore...

1. Au Contraire!
Just managed to find and buy an 8-Eyed Spy cd! (nostalgia perhaps but I like Lydia Lunch)...still have the No New York lp, being a student at the UofOregon in the late 70's (hippieville) meant just about everyone I played it to absolutely hated it! I wasn't populular, but I wasn't into being a hippie Deadhead at the time, know what I mean?

5. Now I'm listening to:
Edited on Sun Aug-31-03 12:44 PM by CanuckAmok
"A Diamond Hidden in the Mouth of a Corpse". V/A LP featuring David Johansen, William Burroughs, Husker Du, Michael Gira, etc...

I'm buring my rare LPs onto MP3, so I'm rediscovering lots of this stuff... OH YEAH!

Next on the pile: "Buy" by the Contortions, and "Cop" by Swans.

on edit=the artwork on the "Diamond" LP is by Keith Haring--how cool is that?!
