Funny Pieces Of Clothing You Own But Don't Admit - Until NOW!
when my stepson was around 11 or 12, he got into WWF Wrestling. since he spent the entire summers with us, he and I got into this 'bonding' thing where Thursday nights was "guy night".

Mrs Matcom would pop us some popcorn after dinner and go upstairs to read whilst the little fella and i sat in the livingroom together watching WWF Superstars of Wrestling. The 'hero' (i guess that's the term for the popular wrestler) at the time was Stone Cold Steve Austin.

anyways, my stepson decided Stone Cold was "our favorite"

one day Mrs Matcom and he were shopping (can't remember where) and they ran accross some "Stone Cold" gear.

long story short, i still own a pair of Stone Cold Steve Austin boxers :D

you?

1. Illinois state fish tee shirt
I got in the '80s when I taught school. Thought the thing looked just like some of the loudmouthed legislators from the General Assembly.

7. I bought a tape on bra yesterday
I bought a couple of summer shirts yesterday that have the back cut rather low.

So I got this contraption that's only front and has adhesive sides. I can't wait to try it out. :D

I also still have a couple of velcro shirts my mother made for me when I was in the hospital. I was tied to an IV for a long time and regular shirts were an ordeal. These velcro things meant I could get dressed by myself.

23. My official Spuds McKenzie Sweatshirt
Still in primo condition, too. Remember Spuds--he was a beer dog, in all the ads with beautiful women around him seeing to his every need. I forget which beer it was though. I liked the dog better than the beer. Remember Spuds at the side of the pool, Spuds as a cheerleader, etc? Or am I just making all this up? After four years of bush* I may be crazy as hell.

Of course, they were mine when I was seven, so obviously I can't wear them. But I keep them in hopes that I'll once have a child who will want to dress as a member of the MC5 for Halloween.

33. Oh my god!
Those hideous things are all my cousin wore in the early-90s when he was into weight training. I swear he had a pair in every hideous shade they came in.

Of course this is also the same guy who owns a red Members Only jacket. Thankfully his fashion sense has improved quite a bit since then.

38. A couple of Smoking Jackets...
Edited on Sat Jul-24-04 03:09 PM by LowerManhattanite
Wore one as part of a costume in a TV show I was on and when the cameras stopped rolling, I lounged around it for awhile. Remarkably comfortable.

So I got a couple from Daffy's (in NYC). Marked wayyyyyyy down.

True story: I was relaxing one evening listening to music while wearing the smoking jacket when I heard a loud crash outside. Some drunk had plowed into a couple of parked cars on the block and I went outside a second to look. T-click! My door locked behind me. So I go up the front steps to get the landlord to let me in through his apartment. He opens the door, I explain my story and he goes, "okay Hef", while letting me in.

Didn't get it until I got to my apartment. Sheesh! They may look funny but damned if they aren't comfortable. :)
