Well, I'm off on my great cycling adventure!
I'm taking part in RAGBRAI, joining more than 8,500 others in a 490-mile trek across Iowa. Wish me luck! I'm a little apprehensive and kind of wondering what I was thinking when I registered for this. Words of encouragement would be appreciated. See ya all next Sunday! :hi:

Have fun! Take some pictures! You'll do fine! It's only 490 miles - you can do that on your head! :hi:

3. The weather is gorgeous. You planned this perfectly.
The forecast for Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin for this weekend couldn't be better. Have fun. See you when you get back.

11. I think it was a matter of luck
but I'll certainly take it. Rain doesn't even appear in the forecast until Friday and the temps are unseasonably mild. BTW, what happened on the Chicago gathering? Was anything ever settled?

20. RE: Gathering. Not sure.
Though I gotta tell ya......my August weekends are filling up fast and hanging out in bars seems less and less appealing to me.

4. Good luck and have fun
Be careful not to drink too much beer. I've heard the overnight parties are pretty wild!

12. Well, that won't be a problem
I don't like beer at all. And I'm not the naked beer slide, wet T-shirt contest kind woman. :-( Not that I won't at least check it out. ;-)

Everything I hear about that event indicates that it should be. Good luck! (Not that you need it.) :-) Peter

but you never know on the downhills. I'm pretty much a wuss, though, and probably will be tapping the brakes before I pick up too much speed.

18. Hey, I'm with you there.
I'm a weirdo who loves climbing, but I'm always using too much break on the way back down. Besides, it could be worse. You could have signed up for a Tour in the Rockies or Cascades. ;) Salud!
