last spring, i "road tripped" with three friends and all they listened to was supertramp, david bowie, and some weird japanese chick who clearly has a helium addiction.
He was the original in the early 70's... it took the rest of the world 10 years to catch up, by which time Bowie had moved through at least three other hairstyles...
14. A friend commented about my musical tastes, said I was missing...
...all sorts of good music.
Which after a weekend of listening to that 'good music' I realized I wasn't missing a thing.
My album purchasing trends usually are like this: The band has to be around for about 5 years producing excellent rock/alternative style music for me to even consider it. To give you an example - I never bought Alanis Morisette's first album "Jagged Little Pill" until 3 years ago and it came out in 97. Now she's one of my favorites.
I figured if the music stands the test of time it's good enough for my book. BUt I also listen to WXPN from UPenn which has great alternative/college oriented music that I will skip the above procedures (like Damien Rice)
