Poll question: Worst Charleton Heston Performance in a Dramatic Role...
Edited on Thu Aug-28-03 05:47 PM by CanuckAmok
Yes, he does deserve his own poll.

So, if a ham wins an award, do you present him with a top salesman?

3. Soylent Green
"It's people. Soylent green is made out of people!" Just the way he delivers that line deserves a vote. Since it's not on the list, I'll vote Planet of The Apes, "YOU MANIACS! YOU BLEW IT UP! DAMN YOU! GOD DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!!"

5. OMG yes...
I'll add it right away--no wonder Edward G. Robinson was so eager to suicide in that--he didn't want to share the screen with that flailing nutcase!

6. 'BEHOLD HIS MIGHTY HAND!'
but Moses was probably his best. (as an aside, does anyone remember Billy Crystal doing Edward G. Robinson as Aaron, who tries to lead the Jews astray and winds up falling into a crevice after G*d sends an earthquake?
AND the all-time trivia quiz question: who is the guy who played Aaron (Robinson's) sidekick in "The Ten Commandments?" Hell, I can't remember his name, but he later went on to fame and fortune as one of the chiefs of the Facowi Indian tribe on TV's "F Troop."
(sorry if the reference is seen as racist. TV has NEVER portrayed American Indians accurately.

8. Racially insensitive or not, "F Troop" was one of the funniest shows ever.
Edited on Thu Aug-28-03 05:56 PM by Richardo
And they cleaned up the tribe name to "Hekowi" and actually told the joke about how they got their name ("Where the heck are we"?).

Funny to a 7-year-old like me, probably hilarious to my dad, who I assume knew the "adult" version.

9. F-Troop, Oh god...
did anyone else have a thing for Agarn? I was very ashamed that I found him sexy in the reruns I watched as a teen. My sister admitted the to experiencing the same phenomena.

Heston's worst acting role has to be in 'Planet of the Apes'. I think he got most of his roles because of his willingness to run around in a loin cloth.

12. Agarn: "Can't you see we're Irish? Our eyes are *SMILIN'*!"
Don't know why that line stuck with me for 35 years or so.
