BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. -- "I had no idea that a little girl can have bad credit when she's never had a job, or a credit card, or a checking account or anything," says Tim Perkins.
Perkins got quite a shock when he tried to open a savings account for his daughter. He learned she has very bad credit, even though she's only 14 years old.
Tim Perkins considers himself to be a responsible father, which is why he visited a Palm Bay bank to open a savings account for his 14-year-old daughter Kelsey.
"I've always told her, you gotta use money as a tool for protecting yourself and taking care of whatever you want to do in life, and start early," Perkins says.
They presented Kelsey's Florida ID and social security card and they were told she has bad credit.
