The High-Steppin' of all CAPTIONS!!!
Edited on Tue Jul-13-04 12:09 PM by skip fox

W. is "thinking": "And she can be the Princess and I'll get Gonzales in Legal to change his name to Poncho, so he can be my sidekick, and I'll just be myself: Duck Wad!! . . . Wow! . . . Ready for any adventure . . . like on the campaign trail and stuff."

2. "Duck Wad" was W.'s nickname as a kid. When
he went to school, the nickname went with him. He thought that a nickname made him like everybody else . . . a regular guy, even, who people liked enough to have a nickname for--but he totally disregarded the fact that when the kids called him "Duck Wad," they would be pushing him, or slapping him, or spitting in his face. So now, W. mistakenly believes that if he trots out the old nickname while running for President (as sort of a nom du guerre), that everybody will vote for him. After all, to quote W., himself, who can resist "Duck Wad for President"? "Gee," he's quoted as saying, "I'll bet even Kerry and Edwards will quit the race to vote for The Wad."
