M$ Access Query question
OK. I have a field that I need to work on to set up the calculations in the query.

In Excel, I have a function here in E7

=IF(Flows!E8=0,"0",Flows!E8/1000000)

E8 is the next row

Assume E7 and E8 and E9 are this:

1477950
1421440
1436030

The result should be like this:

1.421
1.436
1.497 <- Calculation from E10

How do I do this in Access Query. The name of the field is called Influent

Thanks in advance

Hawkeye-X

1. I am this very moment ...
Scratching my head trying to convert excel data tables to access data tables ... and THEN trying to generate charts using that data ...

I am not fluent in Accessese ... and my Excel skills are weak ...

Does ANYONE have a decent website that helps budding Access neophytes learn the tricks ? ...

Good Luck on your problem Hawkeye: I have NO idea how to help you ...

3. I'll take a crack at it

iif({Influent}=0, "0", {name of E8 field]}/1000000)

Is the E8 field already a numerical value? Also if the e8 field is null, you might consider changing it to 0.

Edit: the Influent and name of E8 field should be in brackets but when typing brackets the coder thinks I am putting in something else so replace the curly brackets with the standard ones.

4. That didn't work
It gave me an error relating to some comma.

Expr1: IIf([Influent]=0,"0",[Influent]/1000000)

Syntax error (comma) in query question '[Flow Data
Query].IIf([Influent]=0,"0",[Influent]/1000000)'.

5. Okay I tried it out this time
I create 2 fields, Influent and Influent2.

Expr1: IIf({Influent}=0,0,{influent2}/100000)
