Why I don't believe gay marriage should be allowed
Because just as Randi Rhodes says I will not allow my gay friends to go through the hell of having to go to the law firm of "this is mine that's yours" just to get their stuff back!
LoL
I'm kidding of course but I love that bit. Truthfully I support gay marriage 100%
on the more serious side, Marvin V Marvin didn't distinguish as to gender so technically gays can get "divorced" and pay palimony even if they can't get married.
I believe in allowing gay marriage to include all the legal bits and pieces that straight people have to go through which includes the hassles of divorce ect. If we want it to all be equal than this better be the way it is.
Overall the biggest reason why I support gay marriage is so that 20 year+ partners don't get screwed over when their significant other dies or for some reason just takes off leaving the other screwed. I'm sure this happens just as much within gay couples as well.
One member in a long term gay relationship dies. There is no will(these guys were both relatively young). The family of the deceased appears en masse and walks off with the accumulated belongings of their life together. Suddenly the survivor has lost not only the love of his life but his home and all he thought of as his. (He was lucky, the assholes let him take his clothes before they changed the locks) Yeah! I think gay people should have EQUAL RIGHTS under the law !!!!
