I sometimes watch old tv shows on the net. they used to be 26 minutes long for a half hour show. what are they now? 22 or 21 minutes? the rest is commercials. spray paint.

16. I saw a Japanese game show that basically consisted of

bare-breasted women engaging in fairly pointless 'athletic' activities that seemed designed primarily to make their breasts jiggle and bob so incredibly.........I mean....*ahem*....as I was saying, it was....it was very Japanese, I suppose. I had to keep watching it because.....

(leave me long enough, I'll come up with a rationale)

Anyway, it may have been demeaning - Japan's not especially noted yet for an incredibly progressive attitude toward women, at least outside of certain defined roles - but in some ways it was at least more honest than these American 'jiggle' shows that do everything short of actually showing the pointy bits. Also, the women on the Japanese show - though I thought they were all attractive - were more 'real' in look than is the case in some of these US shows where 'contestants' seem chosen for bust size and what color they dye their hair.

I think the Japanese show was titled something like "100 Boobies," so at least - if no other redeeming value can be said of it - it was Truth in Advertising.

Link to some rather unusual (I hate to be ethnocentric and say 'weird', though some are just plain weird!) Japanese game shows.

Example: in one show the lower has their body covered with butter and are licked clean by three dogs inside a cage. Freud would have loved this stuff.



There is some turnaround, though:

"A YOUNG WOMAN stands on a crowded Japanese public beach with a microphone. She interviews young men, but only those with the most revealing bathing suits. As she asks them innocuous questions about water sports, a camera zooms in on their crotches.

Back in a television studio, an all-female celebrity panel is trying to guess the size of the man’s chin-chin (genitals). After reaching a consensus, they relay their estimate to the reporter view her headphones. Then she confesses to the man that while they were talking, a panel has been sizing up his manhood. She tells him their estimates and asks him for the real size in centimeters."
