Hotmail seems to act up on the computers at work

1. Because your work has content filtering software on the network

that's a possibility.

and takes forever to load stuff

Other processes running?
Could be a Microsoft problem.

4. Hotmail Has Problems on My Home Computer

Hotmail may be moving data around to try to distribute an unmanageable load. They have no effective defense against spam, which takes up a huge amount of room on their servers.

I went through my account, deleting as I went. Performance did not improve; in fact I got a prompt, "Server is busy." This was late at night, so it can't be network traffic, which is usually light at that hour.
