What is your favorite political movie?
Edited on Sat Jun-26-04 09:41 AM by RatTerrier
With all the hoopla of F 9/11, I thought it would be cool for all of us to share our favorite politics-themed movies.

I also saw "All The President's Men" on HBO last night. Amazing that the movie has aged very well. Very compelling and cerebral.

Here's a few others to get started:

"No Way Out" - Kevin Costner yarn with an amazing plot twist

"Path To War" - Frankenheimer-directed HBO film about LBJ and his personal struggles with the Vietnam War.

"Truman" - Another HBO flick. Captures him well.

"JFK" - Great for conspiracy buffs.

"Manchurian Candidate" - Very intense.

What are some of yours?

2. My Fellow Americans
Comedic look at the way Rethugs put their egos and their party ahead of their country, to the point that President Haney (a Cheney act-alike) and Vice-President Matthews (a Bush act-alike--one who acts stupid to mask his true evil colors) will even try to murder former Presidents to cover up their crimes!

It's hysterical--and educational at the same time!

3. "The Quiet American" - absolutely brilliant.
Michael Caine was incredible. He should have gotten the Oscar for Best Actor.

10. The Last Supper
http://www.uln.com/cgi-bin/vlink/043396077386IE.html?ptitle=The-Last-Supper-DVD

A tongue-in-cheek examination of both sides of the political spectrum, this black comedy follows the culinary exploits of a group of liberal graduate students who invite right-wingers to dinner to pick their brains--literally, as it turns out. After each dinner, the guest of honor is murdered and buried in the back yard. A cutting satire on the self-righteous on both sides of the political divide.
