Favorite Boris Yeltsin memory?
I'd have to say my favorite one was when ole Boris visited Ireland and was too drunk to get off the plane. Hilarious!

1. That time when he was dancing
I don't remember where he was, or when it happened, but it was hilarious.

2. Dancing on a stage with a rock band.
This was during his re-election. At point it really dawned on my that the ol' USSR was long gone. It was so funny. The dude can't dance either.

3. My second favorite memory of him
since you already nabbed my fav, was when he locked himself in that building and hung the Russian flag out the window, during the attempted coup of Gorby.
*sigh* Those were heady days when I really believed the world was looking forward to better times....

5. Anytime i saw him and...
the Big Dog side by side i would be in peals of laughter. I dont know why. The juxtaposition of those two men just set something off inside my funny nerve.

6. I Have Two Favorites:

Before he took over from Gorbachev, he walked into the Duma soaking wet from head to toe holding a bouquet of flowers. Refused to make any comment whatsoever on his appearance.

When he was prime minister, as I recall, he was making a state visit to Germany and there was a traditional German band nearby playing polka music or something. He walks over to the conductor, rips the microphone out of his hands, and starts drunkenly conducting the orchestra.

Of course, in all seriousness, my favorite Yeltsin moment is when, in the dark hours after the 1990 coup d'etat, he stood publicly on the steps of the Duma fulminating against the military takeover and refusing to back down. That one brave action might have saved democracy in Russia. As much as he amuses he, he is a true national hero.

7. I agree
ribofunk,
When he was out on the street during the coup, he gained my respect. Heck, I would take up drinking like that if I had cheated death in that way.

9. The time he got drunk and was conducting an orchestra.
He was TOTALLY wasted. Kinda looked he was hepped up on something, too.
