Anybody see Jupiter near the Moon this evening?
If you can, I'd encourage you to check it out. Jupiter looks like a bright star to the lower left of the Moon.

1. I noticed it while I was floating in the pool but didn't know
what it was. It was definitely bright and beautiful

4. we were looking at it when we put my son to bed
really pretty. We thought it was Jupiter.

The four satellites of Jupiter described by Galileo (also known as the Galilean Satellites) - Io, Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto!

18. I saw those last year!
And the bands, too. I was pretty amazed, considering it is a 60mm refractor. If you watch long enough, you can see them move! Or make a sketch and come back in 1/2 an hour and make another sketch, then compare them.
Jupiter and saturn are 2 awesome objects.

14. Tonight was observation night at the SWOSU Observatory...
I got to see Jupiter through the telescope...AND four of it's moons.
It was awesome.
