Apparently, Pepsi has left "Under God" off their "Patriotic" cans...

This is an email that I received today:

DON'T BUY PEPSI IN THE NEW CAN

Don't buy Pepsi in the new can. Pepsi has a new "patriotic" can coming out
with pictures of the Empire State Bldg. and the Pledge of Allegiance on
them.

However, Pepsi left out two little words on the pledge, "Under God".
Pepsi said they did not want to offend anyone. If this is true, then we
don't want to offend anyone at the Pepsi corporate office. So if we don't
buy any Pepsi product, they will not be offended when they don't receive
Our money that has the words "In God We Trust" on it.

4. Snopes sez no
http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/outrage/drpepper.asp

Claim: A new can design for Pepsi includes the text of the Pledge of Allegiance with the words "under God" omitted.

Status: False.

6. Ah, the recycled Dr Pepper cans are back!
Morphed into the Pepsi cans this time. This hoax and Clinton's penis seem to arise every six months or so.

7. Pepsi has been my addiction of choice for some time now
I see no reason to end it based on this. Why does it take a corporation to realise that it would be cutting nearly 10% of its possible client base by including god on their product.

8. We should produce our own beverage...
complete with patriotic cans that display the pledge with "under god" omitted.

We could call it Mountain DU.

9. Why do right-wingers have such a need to spread around urban legends?
I've gotten this one, as well as the one about the great Christian Mel Gibson who got his face torn off but was repaired by plastic surgery and faith. If Gibson was once deformed and plastic surgery made him what he is today, all I can say is - whats the number to his doctor?

I have also gotten others from right-wingers that are bunk. Seriously, why do they spread these things? It would make a great thesis.

10. Isn't Pepsi run by mormans?
They sell caffeinated beverages, except for their root beer, since they drink the root beer and people who drink caffeine go to hell.

Was this another urban legend?
