Poll question: Poll on support for Gay Marriage
What do you prefer? Having a gay marriage or a miserable marriage?

1. Not sure I understand the poll
Are these things mutually exclusive? Can't one have a gay AND miserable marriage?

I'm confused.

2. 1. Yes 2. Not in this context.
Think of the term "gay marriage" as "merry/happy marriage".

I am using the word "gay" as it was originally used pre-1970.

6. I am a liberal. People should be able to do what they want to
I told a friend, who was constantly confused about the difference between liberalism and conservatism, that the difference between liberals and conservatives, as I see it, was that conservatives want to tell everyone else what to do while liberals let people do what they want to do. Conservatives don't want people to smoke anywhere. I smoke, so I resent this. Conservatives are against gay marriage; what is it to them, since they will certainly not be forced to marry anyone of the same sex? Conservatives are against abortion; what do they know about someone else's situation?; I believe this should be between a woman and her doctor, who have the facts. I would certainly hate it it if someone forced me to smoke or marry someone of the same sex or have an abortion, but this is not what's going on. People should have choices, but they are certainly eroding under the influence of the Bush* administration. :-(
