1. I'm watching as long as
that really tall dark-headed guy stays in. Now there is some eye candy. Can you tell my husband has been away since February? <sigh>

2. It got even worse tonight
They kicked off the most talented and edgy comic (in my opinion) in favor of a total hack. Since it sounds like you haven't seen it, I won't spoil it for you, unless you ask me to.

Another thing that really bugs me about it this year is the lack of comics that are over 40 (or admit to it). I also found fact the Will Durst didn't even make it to the Vegas finals is absolutely ridiculous.

I worked in the comedy club biz during the boom in the eighties/early nineties, so I still have quite a few friends in the business. The stand up scene is so decimated that comics are desperate to get the work that comes from being scene on this show. I know someone who was on last season and now he has more bookings than he can handle, and he didn't even win.

4. some of these guys are johnny one-notes . . .
including the two who performed tonight . . . both did material that they'd done on past shows . . . if that's the range of their repertoire, they ain't gonna be standing for long . . .

5. what gets me is
they said they were looking for "personality" when the whole premise of the show is "funny" plus it was OBVIUOS that they were cutting a lot of slack for their friends from the circuit.i was happy when dat phan won last year, the rest of those assholes all sat around talking shit and trying to crack each other up,when they should have been working on their material...
