10. things where happening before Nirvana.
Its funny but there was some interesting guitar alternarock happening before them, but it was not well known. Thinking about bands like the Pixies or Eleventh Dream Day.

Vastly underrated and marginalized. Took a load of shit for undeserved reasons (i.e., "dared to become popular").

13. Funny.
Two of those: the Nelson and the Queensryche songs must have been from before Nirvana when the 90's still sounded like the 80's.

23. Wasn't meant to be
Even though the song came out in 2001/2002, the vocal style reminds me of Hootie and the Blowfish which I definitely tag to the 90s, and the lyric "I'm Free" reminds me of how I felt before King George the Worst and his goose stepping Republicans put their boot on this country's neck.

"Mind Riot" - Soundgarden
Anything off of "Achtung Baby"
"Beyond This Horizon" - Screaming Trees

"Prison Sex" - Tool
"Last Goodbye" - Jeff Buckley
"Devil's Haircut" - Beck

OK, I'll stop now.

Especially loved the acoustic version, but great either way. That and "Dumb" by Nirvana have a dark beautiful moody quality that reminds me of my time working in an Oregon coffeeshop back in the good ol' 90s.
