I really, really want to see Spider-Man 2, but I feel guilty
for looking forward to June 30. It opens the same day as the transfer of power in Iraq, which might be a pretty bloody day over there. Am I evil for going to see a movie on a day when lots of peope will die? Or am I redeemed for even thinking about this particular moral quandary?

1. Are you for the war?
Since you aren't and wouldn't have started it if you were in the White House, why let * ruin your day?

I have no interest in the movie at all, but if I did I'd go with you. I'm not going to stop living my life just because there's a moron in the White House.

2. If it makes you feel better,
The real problems in Iraq won't start until the following day.

Just trying to brighten your world.

3. You're redeemed. I don't see why going to see a great work of art
or entertainment like Spiderman is disrespectful to our soldiers or Iraqi's. Maybe wasting your money on some crap film or watching some crap television show would be more disrespectful. Spider-man is a great staple of American culture created by a great liberal man Stan Lee. And it's whole defining message "with great power come's great responsiblity" is I think very much in keeping with our liberal patriotism

4. Hey, good call!
So do you think John Kerry can sense right-wing attack ads before they happen?
