What are your favorite albums of 2004 so far?
They must be 2004 releases. I didn't say best, because music is very subjective.

Here are mine, not in order:

Penelope Houston - Pale Green Girl
Abra Moore - Everything Changed
Patti Smith - Trampin'
Corrs - Borrowed Heaven
Wilco - Ghost Is Born
Avril Lavigne - Under My Skin
Loretta Lynn - Van Lear Rose
PJ Harvey - Uh Huh Her
Indigo Girls - All That We Let In
A.C. Newman - The Slow Wonder

There are more that are quite good. I have heard enough of the Wilco that I feel comfortable including it. In July alone there are three pop/rock albums that sound great coming out: albums from Sarah Hudson, Maria Mena, and surprisingly Ashlee Simpson (after hearing clips from Ashlee's other songs, I got a new perspective on "Pieces Of Me.") Everyone knows how I love quality pop/rock, so the list could change soon. One that disappointed me from the samples is the Velvet Revolver album. I'm a STP fan. So what are your favs?

1. I haven't bought many new albums this year, but
PJ Harvey - "Uh Huh Her" is definitely a good rekkid.

Peaches - "Fatherfucker" was last year, right? That's another great one, if you like her skittle, and I do.

5. Is that Wilco CD out yet?
Comes out tomorrow, doesn't it? From what I've heard, it sounds sparser that Yankee Hotel Foxtrot.

6. Yep, comes out tomorrow
It does sound a little less dense. I loved YHF and think I'll like this one as much or almost as much.

10. Here's the Pitchfork Review

I really enjoy the cd a lot, but then I tend toward liking this kind of pop music. I think you'd like it. It's pretty upbeat and tight musically.
