Poll question: Favorite Metal Vocalist
Edited on Sun Jun-20-04 10:06 AM by name not needed
Its just the first 8 I could think of. So choose from them. Plant is listed because Led Zeppelin was one of the founding fathers of hard rock and the genre.

1. He was the absolute quitessential jerkoff...
and I should know, I used to work for the asshole, but god love his pimply, worthless ass, Kevin DuBrow of Quiet Riot had a set of pipes on him that just did not know the meaning of the word quit. Simply amazing.

7. In your Dio option, you forgot to include Rainbow.
The four albums Dio and Blackmore made together are some of my favorite heavy metal records ever. I voted for Ronnie.

14. He is always lamenting the metal and neu-metal scenes...

He would definitely not fall under the metal category.

I guess Angel Dust was metal, but it was pretty experimental, twisted stuff.

19. Of the choices offered...
Rob Halford gets my nod. I loved Judas Priest before I knew what metal was, and have bought their catalog of music serveral times over with each tech change. And he provided the most amusement to me in the 1980's when Metal really started taking off. All my buds started buying their albums and emulating his mode of dress. *I* knew the origions of the leather & studs biker look, but my friends did not believe me when I told them of it, and my suspicions about his sexual prefferances. We had many a long, drunken debate on the subject, usually ending with me being told I was full of excrement and did not know what I was talking about. LOL But I was right. As I usually am...

24. King Diamond
Mercyful Fate and solo albums. Possesses an operatic range, but with testicles intact (which is why many metal vocalists can be grating, they have their balls in a vice). Once you hear King Diamond run through some scales, you will throw away your Freddie Mercury posters. And albums, I hope.

26. that would have to go to Maynard
james keenan of Tool and APC. that dude is a fucking amazing vocalist and equally amazing writer.

second place is zach de la rocha... formerly of RATM... good writer and all, but he can get a bit raspy.

36. No Lemmy?!?
If Motorhead is not the way all metal should sound, then one must like hair metal.

BTW I voted for Rob Halford, just because I have been listening to Judas Priest all weekend. I am not a JP fan, but I guess I got in the mood.
