Gollum To Be King Kong

Though this is really not all that surprising if you've been following the news on Peter Jackson's remake of King Kong. By now you should know that the once and future Gollum, Andy Serkis, had been signed onto the film but wouldn't reveal exactly what he'd be doing. As if we didn't know.

Sure enough, it as officially announced today that they will be using Serkis as the motion capture model for the giant ape, much like he did with Gollum in the Lord of the Rings movies.

Because the extended version of ROTK isn't out yet?

I'm still torn as to what I think of this King Kong business. On the one hand, I think it sounds like a ridiculous movie. But on the other hand, it's directed by the almighty Peter Jackson... :shrug:
